Scot McKnight is a writer and scholar who writes about the Chrisitian Church — where it’s strong and where it’s not — and he has an interest in connecting the modern church to its ancient roots. A good friend of mine said that his book on the spiritual discipline of fasting is the best thing he’s read on the topic. My book, God Hides in Plain Sight, struck a chord with McKnight because it looks at the seven sacraments in a new way that helps us see the presence of God that surrounds us and even goes before us.
